Exactly 17 weeks ago, my favourite clothing company Pinup Girl Clothing posted this preview to a new style coming out…
…with the following caption saying that it had been named after ME!
Of course I completely lost it when I read this at work. Much jumping up and down, squealing and excited jibberish ensued as I tried to explain to my co-workers how FREAKING AWESOME THIS WAS!
A few months pass by before the dress is released on the website and one monday I got a surprise in the mail… a pink Ella dress in my size and a lovely note from the Pinup Girl Clothing Team!
A couple of weekends ago I was doing hair and makeup for the Mini-Shoots at Rita Sue Clothing with Zandy J Photography. After we were done, Zandy took a few photos in Myers Park and since Rita Sue had the Yellow Ella in stock, I got to try that one on too!
The Ella dress is another version of the Evelyn dress, with the same bust and waist but with skinny adjustable straps. It also has a elasticised band at the top of the bodice at the back for extra comfort.
The skirt is gorgeously full and seems a little longer than the usual PUG length. The pockets are a fabulous added bonus, perfect for storing your red lippy!
I find it pretty true to the size chart but I do know that some girls needed to size down because it seems to run a touch big. So I think if you are in between sizes, you should be safe to size down!
The Ella comes in 3 colourways- pink, yellow and baby blue. I’ve seen each colour in person and I have to say that the print and colours of the flowers have such lovely detail that don’t get picked up in photos.
This dress retails for US$120 on the Pinup Girl Clothing website and goes from a size XS to a 4X. They also stock super cute boleros by Laura Byrnes Black Label in complimenting colours! And if you haven’t tried Ella’s cousins, the Erika and the Evelyn, I also highly recommend them!
The Ella is seriously gorgeous and I feel so special to have had a dress named after me! Thank you so much to Laura, Micheline and the PUG team <3

Big thanks again to Zandy J Photography for the lovely photos!
