Since moving to London, I’ve become more and more involved with the wonderful Revival Retro in the heart of the city, holding my Perfect Your Pinup event and vintage styling on weekends.
With the vintage reproduction business very much commanding a online presence, Revival Retro maintains the fabulous customer service and experience that only a bricks and mortar store can provide. Combined with a easy to navigate website for those who can’t have the pleasure of a in-store experience, they are a force to be reckoned with and have been for the past 6 years.
I love going into the beautifully presented shop, where each stocked item has been hand-picked for it’s quality and fit. Dresses, skirts and blouses line the store, sparkly vintage inspired jewellery glimmer on antique furniture and the shoe display? To die for!
Since I’m visiting the store so frequently, I’m going to be doing a monthly post on my current love list from Revival Retro and this month’s selection is wonderfully fresh for Spring.
First up, I do love a good floral swing dress and this Cotton Floral Pin Up Dress has some gorgeous colours in the print. Vibrant but soft at the same time, the blue background with coral flowers make accessorising a dream – I decided to go bold and pair a red Retro Handbag and Irma Heels for a bit of extra oomph.
The Irma Heels (or as the Revival Team have affectionately dubbed ‘The Apple Pie Shoes’), have been so popular that just a week or two after arriving in store, they are already needing a restock. So if your size is sold out, fear not as more will be arriving in March!
I’m wearing a size 10 in this dress which is a lovely relaxed fit- it’s not too tight anywhere so perfect for keeping cool in warm weather. The button-up front is one of my favourite parts about it, not just for how cute it looks but also the convenience of being able to step into it without messing up my hair! As a pear shape, most of the time I’m unable to get something on over my hips without busting the seaming or zipper so I will forever appreciate a dress like this where it’s possible!
Now if you are one for a bit more sass in your style, then the Billion Dollar Baby Dress is for you! Super slinky to hug your curves, cap sleeves and a cross-over style top to enhance your bust, it really does make you feel like a billion bucks!
I’m not one for normally wearing white but I decided to give it a try and loved the look. I paired my own pink belt and hair flowers for a day-time vibe but kept the glam up in the shoe department with these Lavana Silvery Satin Heels. I also love all the new gorgeous silk scarves that Revival recently got in and thought this Black, Pink and White one matched the rest of the ensemble beautifully.
Once again, I’m wearing a size 10 in this dress although a 12 would probably give me more room for eating and sitting! But the great thing about this dress is that it’s super stretchy so you can size down if required. There’s no need to worry about your undergarments showing through, this dress is fully lined and my black underwear was well and truly hidden away.
Being in London, one can’t leave the house without a umbrella but that doesn’t mean it can’t have style! This white frilly edged Pagoda Umbrella makes for a perfectly practical addition. And of course, one can’t forget a pinup girls ultimate accessory – a red lipstick! The pop of Besame Cosmetics American Beauty against the white of this dress exudes glamour!
If you live in London and haven’t visited Revival Retro yet then you simply must! Located in Fitzrovia and just a few minutes walk from several tube stations and Oxford Street, it’s in a wonderfully central location. If you aren’t able to pay them a visit then have a look on their website for a great selection of vintage inspired clothing, shoes and accessories.
