I will always gravitate towards bright colours and I especially love seeing interesting colour combinations and making use of colour blocking. So it’s no surprise that I fell pretty madly in love with the Miranda Skirt from Miss Nouvelle.
With panels of bright coral, orange and teal, broken up by playful black pompom trim, this skirt is so fun and flirty to wear! Combined with the equally gorgeous Shimmy Crop Top in black, this is a seriously winning combo.
As this outfit (and the Emily Ann Dress that I posted about two weeks ago), is my first experience with Miss Nouvelle, I am more than happy to report that the quality, sizing and fit is wonderful. All three items have fitted me perfectly and I would say that the size chart are pretty accurate.
I was really happy to met Holly and her lovely husband at Viva Las Vegas over the weekend as they had a booth at the Car Show. It was great to see so many of the other designs in person and have a chat!
So what sizes did I go for in these items? Well with my 26″ waist, I was a little inbetween sizes in the skirt. I knew that I wanted it to be a pretty firm fit since the waistband would be exposed with the crop top and it would look odd if it was loose in any way. So I opted to size down to the Small which according to the size chart, caters for a 25″ waist. This size is completely fine as I’m rather squishy in the waist and can easily squeeze into a 25″ with skirts and dresses.
I love that the Miranda Skirt is a longer length and hits me right at the mid-calf which is my ideal hem length. It also has hidden pockets and is beautifully full and voluminous.
I also went with the size small in the Shimmy Crop Top which was perfect on me – I love that you can wear this top either on or below the shoulder and there’s enough length to it that it can be pulled down a little further if you’d like to minimize the cropped look. It also has the same pompom trim featured in the skirt and I love that wearing black on top helps to really make the colours of the skirt pop!
Thank you so much to Nicole Engelmann Photography for these beautiful photos by the River Thames!
