Once we had cut the cake, that concluded the Reception in the Homestead part of the wedding. You can read the previous four parts in the series here.
The rest of the night was to be held in the barn! The barn had a really cute vintage rustic feel which we decorated with homemade bunting, paper pompoms and cool lights thanks to Caron’s second shooter Dave!
While everyone headed in the barn, I got changed into my second wedding dress. I had this swing dress made by Curvy Couture by Judy Dee so that I could be a little more comfortable and perform our wedding dance easily! Also, why have one wedding dress when you can have two? It’s one that I will wear again and am planning on getting it dyed a pastel yellow.
Matt and I did a quick, slightly nervous run-though of the dance before walking across to the barn. Our MC (My uncle Greg) announced us as Mr and Mrs Webster and then the music started…
We swing danced to Bobby Darin- Beyond the Sea even though we had both had a drink or two, we did pretty well! Only a few mess-ups here and there! Matt did really really well considering learning this routine was the first swing dancing he had done apart from one or two lessons a year ago!
I’m so excited to see the video! It’s still being edited but I’ll be sharing it once it’s all done.
The barn was a fantastic venue for the night. There were three sections- the middle section was where the DJ was set up and the dance floor. Then there was a section to the right where the desert table was and then another section to the left that was a bit more open and that was where the bar was and lots of tables, chair and hay bales for guests to relax.
It was so good to finally get to let loose and have a boogie!
Throwing the bouquet was rather eventful! It was a battle between Emma and Sam…. Sam came out the winner and Emma was left with a broken shoe!
It was all such fun! The dancing continued thanks to some sweet tunes by our DJ Rob…
We really didn’t want to have to leave and could have danced all night! But at 11.30pm our awesome ride arrived to take us to Hotel DeBrett! It was a 59′ Ford Fairlane, the same car from our engagement shoot.
It really was such a fun night and the perfect end to a fabulous day! It was so good to have so many of our close friends and family there and a big thank you to both of our parents for their endless support. Also thank you to my bridemaids and Matt’s groomsmen, everyone who helped on the day and Caron and her second shooter Dave for getting such amazing photos!
After nearly 8 years together, it’s so nice to have finally taken the next step and start the rest of our lives together as husband and wife!
