Voodoo Vixen recently contacted me about choosing a couple of pieces from their website. Of course, I was happy to oblige and one of the items I picked was the Susie Meow Dress and matching Audrey Cape.
Bold prints like this can be a scary thing in large quantities but this combo was just way too cute to resist. The first time I wore it, I decided that I looked like a cross between Joan from Mad Men and a Hogwarts Professor. Which is pretty awesome.
The Susie Meow and Audrey cape are both made from a wool blend and is fully lined.
The Audrey Cape retails for £39 on the Voodoo Vixen website and is a gorgeous addition to the Susie Meow Dress. Featuring faux fur trim, self-covered buttons and slits for your arms for ease of movement.
It is light-medium weight for a winter piece, enough to keep you warm enough if you have long sleeves on underneath.
I’m wearing a size medium according to my measurements which fits great. Because of the loose style, you could easily size up or down.
The Susie Meow Dress is such a adorable dress on it’s own and looks even more cute with the Audrey Cape. It’s a fun dress with the butterfly collar and contrast trim but it’s still very work appropriate!
The Susie Meow sells for £49.95 on the Voodoo Vixen website and is made out of the same wool blend as the Audrey Cape. It has black shiny buttons and the belt I am wearing in these photos is my own.
My bust measures 36″ and waist measures 27″. I’m wearing the size medium which fits perfectly except the waist which is loose as technically I need a size small for my waist. The belt cinches it in nicely though and helps to break up the print.
I love the a-line skirt, it keeps the busy print from becoming too overwhelming.
If you find the two items together a bit full on, I think the Donna would look just perfect underneath! Or you could go for the Patricia Cardigan and Marli Skirt if you want a bit of extra warmth.
Pair The Susie Meow Dress and Audrey cape with a beehive and some emerald green shoes like these BAIT ones to create a perfectly matching outfit.
It’s such a fabulous combo, you are bound to turn heads. If green and yellow isn’t your thing, check out the red and blue version!
Voodoo Vixen have a great selection of dresses, skirts, cardigans and tops. Stay tuned for another post featuring Voodoo Vixen in the coming weeks.
A big thank you to the always amazing Elizabeth J Photography for the photos! It was so fun being out in the spring sunshine at Auckland’s Wintergardens to capture this stunning outfit.
