10 Items/26 Outfits- Rockabilly Style

I love coming up with fresh combinations and matching items together. I thought it would be fun to start a series of posts where I choose 10 items and come up with as many combinations as I can!
I’m going to do each post themed around one style of vintage/pinup and first up is the Rockabilly style! This isn’t a word that I would use to describe much of my wardrobe so I picked out the items that I though worked best and came up with 26 outfits…

1. Pinup Girl Clothing Vamp Top in Black
2. Vivien Of Holloway Circle Skirt in Leopard Print
3. Cotton On Leather Jacket (similar here)
4. Sourpuss Clothing Skull Cardigan (similar here)
5. Pinup Girl Clothing Kinky Ruffles Skirt
6. Wheels and Dollbaby Leopard Print Cardigan
7. Pinup Girl Clothing High Waisted Fishtail Skirt
8. Lady K Loves Hug Me Baby Jeans
9. Pinup Girl Clothing Black Vinyl Belt
10. Pinup Girl Clothing Red Vinyl Belt

I hope this serves as inspiration for making the most out of the items in your wardrobe, especially for those of you that are just starting to build up your pinup wardrobe.

This was really fun to put together – next I plan on doing office appropriate pinup wear!

  1. Great post, Miss Victory Violet! With the right basics, you can come up with a lot of looks on a budget! The high-waisted fishtail skirt is gorgeous on you.

  2. I love this idea! It’s great for people who can’t buy many expensive pieces each year and need ideas for mixing them up. Great styling and beautiful pictures as usual 🙂

  3. Omg I seriously love your style! This post was so good! I’m definitely more of a minimalist when it comes to my wardrobe so I love getting ideas on how to mix and match! oxo

  4. This is fantastic, thank you. Just the right amount of pieces to pack for a holiday where you need as much space for shopping!

  5. This is such great advice for those who are traveling and can’t think of what to pack or have to take a rather small suitcase! I think if I had all these items, I’d totally copy you! 😉 Brilliant!

  6. This is brilliant! All of the outfits look fab. Can’t wait for the office appropriate article. I wear vintage to work but always have that inner conversation about ‘is this suitable for work?’ So will wait with interest for that one x

  7. Thank you for this wonderful inspiring post. You always amaze me, I am from Morocco and I am a huge fan of yours, Thank you

  8. The greatest challenge I find in becoming minimalist is The Capsule Wardrobe concept. Gurus like Joshua Becker and Courtney Carver advocate the 333 challenge: wearing 33 or less items of clothing for 3 months (including shoes, jewelry, handbags, sunglasses) to discover what you truly NEED. To encourage donation, recycling of goods, and a moratorium on consumption (my next goal!). Upon reading this at first, I burst in flames and became a pile of pinup mermaid pixie dust on the floor.

…but still so intrigued. Fact: We buy too much. We spend to much. We save too little. We have too much. We waste. And studies show, we wear only 20% of our wardrobe, 80% of the time. So, after minimizing everything else about my life, why not try the Capsule Wardrobe?

Well, because all the Capsule Wardrobes I saw in books, blogs and Pinterest were basic, baggy, and BLAH! Which I respect (lol), as a truly spiritual and monastic approach to minimalism: focusing on what matters most, living frugally, becoming generous, and veering away from vanity. I get it.

As I whittle down my wardrobe, I am finding that I am purging my “basic blahs” in favor of my leopard print, mermaid blues, skulls, lace, and patent leather. But, truth be told, if I’m only left with 33 items, I better love the crap out of them! Riieeeght?

ENTER miss victory violet BLOG! This has re-framed my minimalist wardrobe effort. Just because zebra or cheetah print is my wardrobe “neutral” (snicker 🙂 ) does not mean I’m any less spiritual, generous, community-engaged, creative, contributing person. It means I choose to include my personality on my journey toward betterment. I freaking LOVE this blog, and so will all my fellow Vixens…. ♡
