Elizabeth J Photography and I have been working together for some time now and we wanted to create a pinup photoshoot experience that really stood out from the rest.
In many photoshoot situations, there can be 5 or 6 slots throughout the day which makes it more cost effective for those booking the shoots and worthwhile for those working them like the photographer and hair/makeup artists. We wanted to create something where there is much more one-on-one time, where I could not only do the hair and makeup but also have the time to then help with posing for the duration of the shoot… and thus ‘The Ultimate Pinup Experience’ was born!
On November 14th, we had the first session with the beautiful Ginelle. I got so excited when I saw her hair colour as I knew it would photograph beautifully.
Ginelle’s hair was quite short and thick so after a chat, we settled on victory rolls which would show off her hair colour and leave the back down. With red lips, liquid eyeliner and brows done, we were ready to shoot!
We were lucky enough to get to use a gorgeous Opera Studio decorated with opulent furniture, mirrors and a stunning chandelier. Ginelle had only done a few shoots before this one but she was a pro!
“I’m relatively new to pinup, so when I saw the opportunity to work with two of the best on Instagram, of course I jumped at the chance! I was a little nervous at first, but that quickly disappeared. Elizabeth J and Miss Victory Violet were wonderful to work with, shooting in one of the most beautiful locations I’ve seen – Auckland’s Opera Studio. By the end of our session, I felt so glamorous, like an old Hollywood starlet! The styling and posing tips from Miss Victory Violet helped to transform the morning into almost a workshop as much as a photo session. I couldn’t believe it when Liz sent through my photos, only a few days after the shoot – it was a struggle to choose my favourites, she sent so many!
I loved every moment, and it shows in the pictures, and would love to work with these wonderful and talented ladies again in the future!”
Two weeks after Ginelle’s shoot, we had our second session! Shelby is from Australia and delayed her flights home just so that she could do this shoot… Liz and I felt pretty special!
I did her hair and makeup and then we met Liz at the Auckland Wintergardens which is a wonderful location full of different places to shoot around.
The Wintergardens did not disappoint and Shelby did so well! I adored her tartan skirt that she’d picked up in a vintage shop on K’rd the day before.
“I thought that when I booked in to do Miss Victory Violet’s Ultimate Pin Up Experience that it would be just a photo shoot; I would get hair & make up done and take a few photos. It was so much more, it really was an experience. Ella put time and effort into doing my hair and make up, which turned out beautifully.
She also taught me so much about posing and gave directions throughout. Liz was also wonderful to work with, she made me feel like the centre of attention and professional.
The two of them worked so well together and made it the best day, I received so many photos that had genuine smiles, I was laughing throughout and felt completely at ease.It was a wonderful couple of session and the photos that Elizabeth J Photography produced are stunning.”
