I love a soft pastel palette and pinky peach tones have been high on my love list recently. The Heather Dress from Voodoo Vixen certainly caught my eye and I felt like a classy 1950s lady in her Sunday best in the following ensemble.
The Heather Dress is a more A-line style but I still managed to get my Malco Modes Samantha Petticoat underneath… I just feel so weird without my frothy petticoats! It has a V shaped neckline which isn’t too low and makes it very appropriate for any of you ladies that prefer a little more coverage in that area without feeling frumpy.
When I first received the dress, I fell in love with the fabric. It’s a cotton with a little bit of elastane, but it’s got a woven texture to it that is reminiscent of the beautiful vintage dresses from the 1940s and 1950s. It gives it a extra quality than if it had just been a plain cotton sateen.
My favourite part of this dress is the pretty cut-out details at the shoulders. They are shaped like flower petals and have a fine lace over the top of the peachy coloured lining. I’m wearing my own white belt in these pictures but the Heather does come with with a belt in the same fabric as the dress. It was a little big for me, hence why I’m wearing the white one, but I also like how it ties in the buttons down the front and the rest of my white accessories.
I’m wearing the size Medium which is my usual Voodoo Vixen size, mainly due to my bust measurement. My waist actually needs a size small for me to fit the belt but I think that would be far too tight for me in the bust. For reference, my bust measures 36″, waist measures 27″.
The Heather Dress is perfect for all you Northern Hemisphere pinups in the middle of summer (although it’s also stunning here with a beautiful back drop of autumn leaves). Pair it with a white cardigan and a string of pearls for a simplified look without the fascinator and hat if desired.
