A couple of Sunday’s ago I was invited to take part in a special event at Revival Retro here in London. The owner and leading lady Rowena invited 7 of some of her favourite bloggers and Instagrammers along to come play dress-up at the shop, drink tea and have a natter.
Being new to London I was keen to meet everyone and form friendships, plus any chance to have some girl time is welcome since I live with two boys!
When we arrived we were greeted with Rowena’s infectious enthusiasm and a glass of the most delicious elderflower soda water – normally I’m not a fan of anything fizzy but this was so yummy!
It was so lovely to meet the other ladies, each with their own style and take on vintage. We spent the next hour chatting and trying anything and everything on. The Revival Retro ladies were so attentive to those of us in the changing rooms, making sure that everything fitted and offering a helping hand with zippers.
We all picked out an outfit to wear for the group shots down the road and off we trotted, a merry gaggle of giggling vintage gals! Rowena expertly positioned us in an order that limited pattern and colour clashing and we had tons of fun posing in the cobblestone lane.
Of course, I had to request we all did a Boomerang because they are too fun not to!

Next we headed back to the shop and got taxi’s to an adorable Air BnB Rowena had rented nearby. It was an old gatehouse next to a park and was the location of the rest of the afternoon. Rowena had baked three kinds of scones (now that’s love!) to cater to different dietary requirements and set out an amazing spread of sandwiches, cakes, quiche and fresh strawberries.
Each lady had the opportunity to have some one on one time with photographer Tory while the rest of us chatted and stuffed ourselves full of all the scrummy food on offer.
It was such a lovely day, the time just flew by and I couldn’t believe it was 5pm when we finished up. Big thank you to Rowena, Sarah and the rest of the Revival Retro team for putting the event on.
I highly recommend not only following the @revivalretro Instagram account but also their second (hilariously adorable) account @revivalretro_teamlondon for lots of behind the scenes action.

If you are in London, do head along and check out Revival Retro Boutique. Their collection of clothing has that more sophisticated and authentic feel to vintage reproduction and they aim for their pieces to not only appeal to the die-hard vintage lifestyler but also perhaps the woman who might just dabble in the style.
