Denim Overall Jumper

I have a love/hate relationship with denim. I love the look of denim jeans and overalls but hate how hard it is for me to find a pair that fit me properly. I’ve been wanting a pair of denim dungarees for ages but know that my hip-to-waist ratio makes that nearly impossible, so I was SO EXCITED to see that The Oblong Box Shop were bringing out this Denim Overall Jumper Skirt. This hybrid between a circle skirt and dungarees are exactly what my pear shape needs to get the look I was after!

I love that the look that this style gives, it has a more casual and 1940s feel to it. The neutrality of the denim means that I know I can wear it in summer with a blouse underneath or in winter with a sweater and boots.

This skirt is part of The Oblong Box Shops new ‘Thread and Mitre’ Denim Collection and is a medium weight, dark denim with classic gold stitching. The circle skirt hits below the knee and features two fold over pockets that are more than deep enough to stash a phone, lippy or powder compact. The fitted waistband has a back zip and attached is the front bib has brass fasteners and cross over straps at the back.

For this skirt, the best thing to do is go by your waist size. I’m 27.5″ in the waist and despite the size small being listed for a 26.5″ waist, that’s the size I went for since I have size smalls in other items from The Oblong Box Shop.

It is super tight and there’s not really any give to the denim waistband BUT I do like a nice firmly fitting waistband, especially in situations like this skirt where I’m less likely to wear a belt.

This piece is seriously perfect for any ladies who like me, struggle to find well fitting pants but still want to channel their inner 1940s Bomb Girl vibes.
The Denim Overall Flare Jumper is US$175 and comes in sizes S-3XL, catering up to a 42″ waist.
