Welcome back to my Christmas Styling Guide Series! Sorry this installment is a little late but it is the silly season after all and things have been rather busy!
In my last post, I started with accessories and now I’m going to delve into all the exciting Christmas themed statement pieces available this year. I’ve really noticed how much more fun festive prints and outfits are available this year compared to previously, the 2016 novelty game is strong!
For some, I know that these will be potentially a bit too kitschy but you have to admit, they are all pretty cute! I’ve selected my favorites but there’s even more out there so if you are into Christmas Novelty, this is your year!
I’m a big fan of separates and whilst these pieces are all VERY ‘themed’, you can easily tone down the look by pairing them with a plain solid other half. For tops, my favorite plain tops are the Vivien of Holloway Slash Neck Tops, Miss Fortune Kitty Batwing Top or Pinup Girl Clothing Sabrina.
For plain skirts, again, you can’t go past Vivien of Holloway (their full circle ones are FAB) or PUG (Team Jenny!)
1. Emmy Designs – The Purrfect Cardigan
2. Pinup Girl Clothing – Sabrina Top in Holiday Harlequin
3. The Oblong Box Shop – Reindeer Love Novelty Print Skirt
4. Pinup Girl Clothing – Jenny Skirt in Candy Cane Stripe
5. Collectif Clothing – Chrissie Deer Jumper
6. Unique Vintage – Winter Kingdom Swing Skirt
Onto the dresses! I had a hard time choosing my favorites as there are so many good ones out there! But these ones really stood out for their kitschy, Christmassy glory!
If you are in the Southern Hemisphere then chances are you won’t have to worry about adding extra layers, however if you are up North like I am, then extra warmth is definitely essential! Get yourself some wool tights, wear a petticoat for further insulation, pop a cropped cardigan over the top and invest in decent coat (Collectif and Hell Bunny both have great ranges).
1 Pinup Girl Clothing – Jenny Dress in Blue Ice Harlequin
2. Bernie Dexter – Lauren Dress in Winter Wonderland Print
3. Pigtails and Pirates – Christmas Elves Dress
4. Lindy Bop – Gilda Alpine Print Dress
If you’ve got your eye on the Pigtails and Pirates Christmas Elves Dress then I’d jump on it ASAP as I know they’ve only got enough fabric for a few more!
Which one would you like to wear on Christmas Day?
