September saw the release of the two dresses in my design collaboration with Miss Candyfloss. The Ella-Raspberry and The Ella-Gia have both been a great success with the dresses selling out really quickly!
To celebrate the restock of both styles in the last few days, I thought it would be fun to share some never before seen pictures of the first sample of the Ella-Gia! We started the discussions for the collab way back at the start of the year and of course with any manufacturing process, there are always bound to be a few hiccups along the way.
The original choice of fabric for this dress was a slightly more muted contrast panel but there ended up not being enough of the fabric for manufacturing. Before we were made aware of that, I’d already done a shoot with the sample in preparation for release. At first, I was a little sad that I had to pick out a new fabric but now I actually prefer the second choice and the one that has been for sale. The more vivid colours really lend it’s self well to the design.
However, I didn’t want to let a perfectly good set of photos go to waste, especially since these ones by Elizabeth J Photography were particularly gorgeous. So I’ve decided to share them with you!
Elizabeth and I took these photos on a very chilly, gloomy winter’s day back in New Zealand in June. I love how lush and rich all the colours are in these photos which were taken on the steps of one of the University buildings next to Albert Park.

I feel lucky to have a one-off version of the Ella-Gia, even if I do prefer the final version better. If you missed out on purchasing these dresses from Miss Candyfloss the first time around, don’t delay in ordering one this time around! I’m not sure if there will be another restock after this one!
Purchase the Ella-Raspberry and the Ella-Gia here and here. There isn’t quite a full size range on Miss Candyfloss but their stockists have had full size shipments – Check out TopVintage (Europe), Endless Indulgence (USA), Slapback (USA) and Kabella Baby (New Zealand) if you need to hunt down your size.
