Sponge Roller Brush Out Tutorial

A few weeks ago I posted my tutorial on how I like to set my hair using sponge rollers. At the same time I also filmed the brush out and I’m excited to share it with you today!

This is just one method that you can use to brush out your hair after a set – I find it’s probably the easiest and also works better for those of you that still have layers in your hair.

You can watch the tutorial below and let me know what you think!

  1. I was wondering what brush to use? Could you advise on a brand? Or should I pay attention to some brushes?

  2. This is SO helpful! Thank you so much. I love that you’re such a perfectionist. I hope to have the opportunity for you to do my hair one day. 🙂

  3. So really – you’re not actually “brushing” during the brushout. You’re:

    unrolling the wetset
using your fingers to separate curls
    teasing sections
and then smoothing it down with the side of a smoothing brush?

Asking cause no matter how carefully I do my wet set, and how much I brush during the brush out, I still get frizz. I use lots of setting lotion and de-frizzig serum and brush against my hand using a hard bristle brush, but the frizz is still there. Maybe the key is not to brush during the brush out?
