Lingerie, Stockings and Shapewear

Glamour Corselette | What Katie Did

When it comes to vintage style lingerie, I’ve typically shied away from one-pieces like Corselette’s as I’ve felt like they wouldn’t work well with my pear shape. However, I now believe that with the right garment and proper fit, they most certainly can!

Introducing one of my new favourite pieces of lingerie, the Glamour Corselette by What Katie Did. I’m a big fan of a lot of What Katie Did’s range and now that I’m in London, the ability to visit the Boutique and have a fitting with the expert staff is so wonderful.

The benefit of this Corselette over wearing a separate bra and girdle/suspender belt is the smooth line it creates and the comfort! I am not someone who will wear underwear that pinches or scratches just because it looks cute, I 100% want to be as comfortable as possible. As such, all of my go-to bras, girdles and suspender belts are very easy to wear however the Corselette is next level! It fits like a glove but nothing digs in uncomfortably and the all-in-one aspect means it feels lovely against my skin – there’s no pinching where two items meet and no digging at the back or around the bra part.

Another great thing I’d like to mention is that unlike a lot of other Corselette’s I’ve tried, this one completely fastens up with hook and eyes at the front, meaning it’s not a epic struggle trying to get it on over your hips or shoulders. Combined with adjustable bra straps and a proper moulded bra cup, this really ticks all the boxes in my opinion! The one and only thing I would love to see is a version with a firmer mesh for ultimate smoothing – don’t get me wrong, this mesh definitely does work well and it’s great for ease of movement and comfort but I consider it more a medium level over super firm.

The Glamour Corselette also features a internal elastic waist tape to help accentuate and cinch your waist and it works wonders!

I tend to vary a little in cups sizes with What Katie Did but for this piece I felt like the 34E was the best size. There’s enough stretch to the material to get around my hips and the 34 is definitely the correct size for my top half.

The Glamour Corselette comes in sizes a variety of sizes from 32-38 band size and is £95. If you’d prefer something a little shorter then you could try the Merry Widow or the Waist Cincher with a bra like the Glamour Nouveau.

Thank you to Ever Photography for these wonderful shots from our shoot at Fontaine’s a couple of months ago! It was a great location to shoot in and you can see more of it in my Behind The Scenes video on YouTube.

  1. The corselette looks lovely on you but I I can’t figure out how one would use the toilet wearing this. Do you have to unhook the stockings and slide up the corsellete or is there an easier way? I would love to know as it seems like the perfect all in one undergarment 🙂
