Many can be scared off by wearing white for fear of that dreaded food spill or because of it’s such a traditionally bridal colour. But I’ve found myself really loving the clean simplicity of a white summer dress and the soft colours in the Ellad Tulip Print Swing Dress by Stop Staring really appealed!
I adore sleeves with a bit of a ruffle or puff so the sleeve detail on the Ellad was what firstly caught my eye. And let’s be honest, anything that the beautiful Aida models is going to be a hit! The Ellad Tulip Dress has a subtle sweetheart bustline with centre tie detail, gorgeous ruffled sleeves and full gathered skirt. What I love about these sleeves is that they can be worn on the shoulder or off – just opt for a firm fit if possible at the bust if you are planning on wearing the sleeves off the shoulder.
The print of the dress is really quite pretty- the peachy pink tulips against black pindots create a beautiful effect and take away the starkness of the white. If you are someone who does worry about wearing white then a print like this is the perfect place to start- it is going to be much more forgiving on any potential spills or stains!
I’m wearing a size small which is generally my size in Stop Staring. My bust currently measures 36″ and waist 27″ and a small is a snug fit. Technically if I were to go by the size chart, I would need a size Medium to accommodate my bust so it is possible to size down depending on your shape. I’m quite small in the back/rib cage so I think that allows for me to size down easier in items like this that don’t have a huge amount of stretch.
One thing I do tend to find with the swing styles by Stop Staring is that often they are a little short in the waist for me. I find that by adding a belt, I’m able to cinch the waist in to the right place without it looking odd.
As for accessories, I went with subtle tones of the same peachy pink in the Tulips, crisp white heels and even though you could easily add a petticoat underneath this dress, I decided to go without.. mainly because it was a humid, sticky London day and a petticoat would have been a little too much!
The Ellad Dress in Tulip Print is available now and has sizes S-XL in stock. Thank you so much to David Fisk Photography for another stellar round of shoots, I love the soft, dreaminess to these pictures!
