It seems that Australia is full of creative individuals and small businesses that provide unique, locally made designs! Sarsparilly is one of these wonderful brands – I’ve done one previous review of their Mermaid Song Dress but this time we’ve also teamed up with M Dreams to put together the ultimate outfit.

The dress I chose from Sarsparilly is called ‘She Walks In Beauty’ and it’s a glorious 1950s reproduction design in a stunning watercolour floral print. The colours in this fabric are so bright and happy, it’s bound to put a instant spring in your step.

This dress features a pleated bust detail with slim straps, bows at the base of each strap, a full skirt, hidden pockets and a back zipper. It’s made out of a super luxurious feeling mid-weight cotton and is fully lined- this dress really ticks all the boxes!

Each Sarsparilly Dress is handmade to order and because of this, they can offer a huge range of sizing – from XXS to 5XL. I’m not wearing any particular size as my dress was made to my measurements, although I’ll admit that I messed that up a little… I’ve lost a little bit of weight recently but hadn’t quite realised how much and so the dress was a fraction too big. But once I’d had it taken in, it was perfect!

To finish of the ‘She Walks In Beauty’ Dress, I picked out the Melissa + Vivienne Westwood ‘Lady Dragon Bauble’ Heels from M Dreams. Now these are a statement shoe if I ever did see one! I’ve only ever had ballet flats from Melissa so I was interested to try the heels. M Dreams is a Australian based shoe distributor that has a drool-worthy range of the Melissa styles, along with a few other brands.

For these shoes, I went with a size 9. Generally in Australia and New Zealand, I can be either a 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe (or 39EU/ 7UK). I always find it safest to size up to a 9 if there’s no half sizes like in this instance and I’m glad I did. I think if there had been a 8.5 on offer and I’d gone with that, they would have been too small. The 9 is a perfect fit and the Melflex PVC that the shoes are made of is surprisingly comfortable!

The Pink Gloss colour which I’m wearing is that perfect pink that’s neither too light nor too fluro, and the shiny bauble on the toe is such a fun touch – not something I would ordinarily go for but once I had them on, I was completely converted. M Dreams also have this same style in a very chic Silver Pearlescent colour.

Together, the ‘She Walks In Beauty’ Dress and ‘Lady Dragon Bauble’ Heels create such a fun, flirty outfit. It’s perfect as is, but you could also add a fascinator or big hat for a more formal garden party or race day outfit.
