A Touch of Luxury | HOTEL PIGALLE

A few weeks ago I was in Gothenburg for my Hair and Makeup Workshops and for the first time, Tigz Rice and I teamed up to offer a makeover and photoshoot package on a international level!
When looking for a location to use for the photoshoots in Gothenburg, Hotel Pigalle was the obvious choice – this incredible boutique hotel in the heart of the city is something to behold. From looking at the photos online, I knew I was going to be blown away by the beautiful décor but I still was completely in awe as I entered.

Every corner of Hotel Pigalle from the minute you walk in is opulently and expertly decorated. Rich colours, dark woods and shimmering chandeliers make you feel like you’ve entered another world. Even a trip in the lift delivers a exciting surprise: Each of the four floors has a different movie quote that plays just before the doors open, including Marilyn Monroe from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Tigz and I had one of the Royale Rooms booked for two nights so we could use them for the makeovers and photoshoots, and of course to sleep in – a hardship I know! The rooms are all decorated a little different and we absolutely loved ours – it was perfect for the boudoir shoots and provided enough space for me to be able to prep the ladies hair and makeup and for Tigz to shoot without us getting in each others way.

We did a total of 6 makeovers and photoshoots for ladies that had travelled from all parts of Sweden and even Norway. Once we had finished up the last client, we couldn’t help but do a quick shoot ourselves and I had conveniently packed this What Katie Did lingerie set at Orchard Corset corset. Tigz is such a expert, we got all of these in probably 15-20 minutes and of course I absolutely love them.

Our 2 days at Hotel Pigalle was such a dream. Oh and did I mention the breakfast? Probably THE BEST hotel breakfast I’ve ever had, complete several options for me as a vegan like dairy free milk, yogurt, homemade vegan ‘nutella’ and the most delicious gluten free bread Tigz and I tried. We’ve actually talked about asking them if they make it themselves and can provide the recipe – it really was that good!

If you are ever in Gothenburg and require a night (or several) of utter luxury, the Hotel Pigalle is the place to book! Thank you to the wonderful staff for taking such good care of us.

Be on the look out for where we head to next! We have more European cities in the works before the year is up!
