It’s been a busy few months for me and blogging has fallen a little bit by the wayside BUT, I’m excited to be back sharing a new series from The Pretty Dress Company! While in Gothenburg, Tigz Rice and I had to opportunity to create some new images for this wonderful brand and I think they have turned out beautifully.
When I first saw the new Tilly design, I knew that it was going to be a hit! One of The Pretty Dress Company’s most popular styles in the last few years has been the off the shoulder Fatale – and the Tilly feels like the big sister that’s all grown up! Initially just released in a Pencil, the Prom version recently made it’s debut, sold out quickly and now makes it’s triumphant return… but I don’t expect it will be in stock for long!
The Tilly Prom Dress in Red is that perfect lipstick red and the fit and design is so incredible. Designed and made in the UK, The Pretty Dress Company always produces a high quality garment and this is no exception. Featuring a off the shoulder neckline with supersize bow details, gloriously full skirt with pleating, a built in net underskirt and deep pockets.
If you have concerns about a off the shoulder style such as this staying up, I’m here to tell you that there’s nothing to worry about. The bodice is constructed beautifully and is fully lined with a stretch lining to help ensure a good fit, and even has sturdy but comfortable plastic boning to ensure that everything stays up and in place.
In terms of the fit, I am wearing the size 8 which lists as being suitable for a 34″ bust and 26.5″ waist. I’m about 34″ / 25″ right now so I find it a tiny bit big in the waist, but it’s not too noticeable. From my experience, I would say that if you are in between sizes, you could probably size down as there is some stretch to the bodice and a tighter fit is going to work better with this dress.
The Tilly Prom Dress in Red is £185 and comes in sizes 8 – 18. As I mentioned earlier, it’s just been restocked so if you’d had your eye on it, don’t hesitate to jump on it. It’s one of those dresses that will have you twirling and swishing about like the Queen you are!
Thank you so much to Tigz Rice for these beautiful images and to Hotel Pigalle for their amazing hospitality while in Gothenburg – it’s basically a dream shoot location! Stay tuned, there’s more to come!
