Last week I debuted the start of a new series of images for The Pretty Dress Company – Tigz Rice and I were lucky enough to get the opportunity to shoot some of their beautiful dresses while in Gothenburg at Hotel Pigalle and the location was stunning.
I’ve already sung the praises of the Tilly Prom Dress and touched upon sizing in last weeks posting featuring the Red version (read it here) – but today it’s the Forest and Navy Tartan’s turn for the spotlight!
Tartan is such a versatile pattern and it’s no wonder that come winter, we see a lot of tartan options from vintage reproduction companies. Most tend to be a little on the casual side, so The Pretty Dress offers us something a little more glamourous for those times in life when we need to err on the side of smart casual OR even more dressed up depending on how you choose to accessorize.
Featuring the gorgeously dramatic off the shoulder neckline with big bows on each shoulder, the Tilly Prom Dress will certainly turn heads. The neckline provides that touch of glamour on it’s own, but equally provides a beautiful frame for a statement necklace should you want to glam it up even more.
The full skirt with a built in petticoat is glorious, and the deep pockets are perfect for stashing a lippy and powder compact while out and about. But you don’t always have to dress it up – the tartan lends itself really well to more casual styling and with winter approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, try wearing it with opaque tights and lace up boots! It seems a shame to cover up the bows, so to keep your arms warm opt for a shawl or a cardigan draped over your shoulders.
The Tilly Prom Dress in Tartan is £185 and comes in sizes 8-18. The Pretty Dress Company have just released a few new colours in this style and the pale pink is TO DIE FOR! So do take a look at their website if Tartan isn’t your thing
