It’s been far too long since my last post featuring Tatyana Boutique, so I’m really excited to be sharing not one, but THREE outfits with you all over the next few weeks.

Tatyana was one of the first vintage inspired brands I discovered way back in my baby pinup days. I still own the gorgeous Green Secretary Swing Dress as it really has stood the test of time and the style is just so lovely.

Tatyana Boutique has gone through a lot of changes over the last few years but it’s really exciting to see them launching new designs. I feel like there’s a really good mix of styles that are in keeping with the original vibe but also some that are unlike what we’ve seen from them before.

The first dress I am sharing with you is the CEO Pencil Dress in Plaid. Let me start off by saying that I seriously LOVE this dress and was so impressed by the quality when I first held it in my hands. It’s made from a heavy duty rayon/nylon/spandex blend that feels so durable and high quality – and boy is this baby heavy! Because of this, it’s not a dress you’ll want to wear in the height of summer, but it’s certainly perfect for Spring or Autumn depending on where you are in the world, and of course in winter with a bit of extra layering.

The benefit of having a heavy duty, thick fabric in this kind of dress, is that it fits beautifully on your curves but holds it’s shape well. There’s nothing worse than a thin bengaline that bunches up and stretches out and just feels cheap. I’ve also talked before in previous blog posts about my pet peeve of wiggle dresses riding up when you walk, and I’m pleased to say that this one stays put really well! There’s a tiny bit of migration up, but only to just above the knee- not mid-thigh like some!

My measurements are currently about 34″ in the bust, 25″ at the waist and about 40″ or so around the hips. I’m wearing a size XS in this dress which when I looked at it on the hanger, I was dubious it would get over my hips as it looked SO TINY. But it’s got a lot of stretch to it and it fitted perfectly! The only thing that I personally would have liked, was just a couple of inches more in length, but that’s my personal preference.

The CEO Pencil Dress is a great dress for anyone who works in a office environment but also works beautifully as a more vampy ‘little black dress’. It is US$166 and comes in sizes XS-4XL.

Thank you so much to Tigz Rice for another fab set of photos – this is the first look at our shoot we did in Paris at our gorgeous apartment we rented out and I’m really looking forward to sharing them all with you!

  1. Gorgeous dress (and gorgeous human) aside, I’d like to hear more about renting an apartment in Paris! As someone who lives smack-dab in the middle of the United States, seeing someone casually mention renting out a Parisian apartment is a shock, haha.

  2. Love This! I can’t wait for some blonde posts! My eyes are so dark brown I’m stuck with brown, black, or black-brown hair, I feel like! lol! I’m living vicariously through your hair journey!
