It’s normally this time of the year that there tends to be lots of parties – be it a work Christmas function or a big New Years Eve celebration. For most of these, you can usually pull out your favourite cocktail dress from your wardrobe, but what if it requires something a little extra? Or perhaps you just want to take the opportunity to wear a floor length, heavily sequinned gown with a giant bow on the shoulder?

Well… should such a occasion arise, then the Millie Sequin Bow Gown from The Pretty Dress Company is the show-stopping dress you need! Guaranteed to not only turn heads, but also feel like a million bucks.

The Millie Sequin Bow Gown features a one shoulder neckline with a stunning bow feature (I’m LOVING all these oversize bows that The Pretty Dress Company have been doing lately), a full floor length hemline and a incredible split up on leg. The cut of the panels also means that from about mid-thigh down, it gently flares out so that while it remains quite a sleek silhouette due to the weight of all the sequins, it’s actually quite full through the back.

My measurements are currently sitting around the 34-25-40 mark and I’m wearing my usual size 8 in this dress which I definitely think was the best size for me, although it could have been a tiny bit more fitted around the waist and stomach area. I also want to note that if you are like me and well endowed in the hips/thigh region, then you will be making that slit a little less subtle!

The Millie Sequin Bow Gown is £285, made in the UK and comes in sizes 8-18. The Pretty Dress Company currently has tons of gorgeous sequinned items so do take a look if you are after something special for the party season.

Thank you as always to my wonderful friend Tigz Rice for these photos in Paris- this dress was the perfect fit for the apartment we rented!
