Todays post is a little bittersweet as it’s the final set of images from the shoot that Tigz Rice and I did in Paris back in November. We worked together so much throughout 2018 and this was the last shoot we did before I moved back to New Zealand – although I know we will definitely be seeing each other and working together in 2019, it’s just not the same when you no longer live in the same country!
We always love getting to photograph The Pretty Dress Company and we’ve done several shoots for them throughout the year- I’ve included some of my favourites right at the end of this post. For this photoshoot we were staying in a gorgeous apartment in Paris that we had rented for two days so that we had the perfect location for doing makeover and photoshoot sessions. We had a full on day of working and then we shot these dresses afterwards – fuelled by chocolate that my husband had bought us back from his day out in Paris!
If you’ve been following along with my recent blog post then this dress is going to look quite familiar. I’ve already shared the images of the Millie Bow Gown in both Sequin and in Hot Pink, and while they are absolutely stunning, let’s be honest: there aren’t a huge amount of occasions suitable for wearing a full length gown. So if you are someone who loves the Millie Bow Dresses but also can’t help and think a little practically, then perhaps the knee-length pencil dress is a good compromise?
The Millie Sequin Bow Pencil Dress is just like it’s gown sister in terms of style and fit, it just finishes right below the knee (depending on your height of course!). Made out of a luxury sequinned fabric, this dress is fully lined with stretch control lining and features a dramatic oversized bow on the shoulder. The Pretty Dress Company credits the inspiration behind the dress as being 1960s which I can definitely see, but it also works wonderfully with more 1950s styling like I’m wearing in these photos.
I’m wearing the same size as I have in the rest of The Pretty Dress Company featured on here – a UK size 8. I find this size to be the best for fitting my bust and waist, although my hips are a little too big for it. It isn’t really a problem when there is lots of stretch in the fabric like with this dress, but it does mean that the side split becomes a little more dramatic!
The Millie Sequin Bow Pencil Dress is £195, available in sizes 8 – 18 and also comes in a ultra luxurious looking black sequined version!
Thank you so much once more to Tigz Rice for her wonderful talent in producing these images and being the best partner in crime over the last year!
