Last week I introduced a new brand to the blog – Kitten D’Amour! This Australian brand has a bit of a cult following and I’m really excited to be back again to share a second outfit from their recent ‘La Parisienne’ Collection.
The Peplum Wiggle Dress is a really interesting design! A base of black with white polka dots and contrasting accents. The peplum is a pleated black contrast panel which helps to give a illusion of a more nipped in waist, especially since it extends up past the belt and comes underneath the bust.
The style of this dress lends it so well to so many situations! It can be a little more cocktail chic like how I’ve styled it or perhaps more rockabilly by adding pops of red into your accessories. I also think it’s absolutely perfect for professional business environments – the length on me is just below my knee and I’m 170cm.
I’m wearing a size 10, same as last week’s La Parisienne Wiggle Dress. In my previous blog post, I talked about the sizing and how I needed to size up to a size 10 for my hips. I didn’t find the bust too bad in terms of fit, it actually worked really well – the main part that was too big was the waist and the belt. To solve this, I simply created a knot in the middle of the belt (which ends up at the back) and that helped to shorten it to a better length for me.
Even though my hip measurements put me in a size 12-14 on the Kitten D’Amour size chart, I can easily wear the size 10. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely puts a ‘wiggle’ in my step, but thanks to the slight stretch in the fabric it’s absolutely fine.
If you think you’d get more wear out of seperates, then one option would be to opt instead for the La Parisienne Peplum Skirt which you could add a simple blouse to, or choose one from the collection. My pick would be the absolutely adorable but seductively sheer My Little Teapot Top.
The La Parisienne Peplum Wiggle Dress is AUD$219 and comes in sizes 6 – 18. Kitten D’Amour offer free domestic shipping for orders over $200 and $300 for international.
